Chapter #1 (Sarah)

Sarah

I walked into Starbucks confidently, today would be a good day! But that confidence shattered the instant I saw that gorgeous George, with his girlfriend Marla. I pulled myself together, somewhat, and walked to the counter where my friend Mark was the manager, and on duty once again because he didn’t like hiring people. Mark smiled apologetically; I love it when Mark can tell what’s going on in my mind without me talking. I glanced at the drink board, no new or interesting drinks worth having, so I stuck with my usual plain boring “Grande Skim Cappuccino.” Then I sat down at one of the tables glancing at George on my way, once again noticing how gorgeous he was, I mean he is soooo hot. After a few minutes of working on my computer (maybe all I did was turn it on) I heard Mark call my “Grande Skim Cappuccino.” I got my drink and started working again. I was kind of an actress, a screenwriter, and was working on a screenplay for a show I was on. Not long after I went back to working I heard the song “Teardrops on My Guitar” come on the speaker. I knew Mark pretended to like the song but he was actually sending messages to me. Just as I expected the song “Invisible” came on next, followed by “Radar.” I was embarrassed that these songs always turned my thoughts to George, as he was there right then. It really didn’t help my case that I couldn’t stop looking at him, and every now and then I could swear I saw his eyes on me.
