Broadway Secrets 6/5/09

1. She's fantastic. But she does have competition.
2. Matt steals my heart way more. But Michael seems better for Peter. But if I were to see it, I'd want Matt. Not that Michael wouldn't be fine. But I like my heart stolen (as long as they give it back)
4. Thank you, I'm glad someone's with me. Not that I don't still love Matt and SA, but I've changed a little. Secret Poster, do I know you?
8. I've heard she growls a few times during the show.
10. I don't know what an E4 is but she looks absolutely beautiful in those pictures.
13. She'd be wonderful vocally. But acting? I don't know.
15. Some bootlegs are really good quality.
16. Same poster, much? At least when I make consecutive posts I change the fonts.
20. I think he's fantastic, poses or not.
23. Not that I don't think she's beautiful. But the photoshopped does make her look better.
24. It deserved so much longer.
25. I laughed SOOO hard *(cause it's true.) But apparently Hugo is Bambi
30. Reminds me of the "Stain Talking" commercial
32. IDK why but this secret annoys me.
33. Two?
34. Love her, but I can't see it.
36. Really? Fake and real peace signs?
37. Love that!!!!
38. Agree!
44. Never done that. But I think that's so funny!
45. I gained respect for this guy after finding out he liked Broadway.
49. Nice photoshop!
53. Good question
55. LOL! "It's a bit pitchy, Alice, Dawg"
56. AWESOME PHOTOSHOPPING!

81. He was on a few episodes of Bones!
82. LOL
85. I want a Cast Recording. I also want to see it.
88. Good luck with that
90. I feel like this is either contradictory or a girl who had fantasies about him.
91. I cant wait
93. I can't wait
95. No longer a secret
97. :) ♥
107. Can't wait!
110. I'm gonna miss him!!!!!!!!!!!
115. NO
116. I sure hope!
135. I don't entirely understand putting her smack in the center, but I do love it
145. Huh?
149. Lame, but funny!
150. It does, doesn't it!
153. Ha ha
159. I've never heard of any of those said. All I could think was Hair, Bare, and Shrek are all short.
164. Good question.
166. Secret poster, Do I know you?
175. When/for what does that not happen?
176. HA

That took me forever!!!!!!!!!!!!! My computer ended up going "Manchester, eng...I'm gonna kill you"
As far as the several Jake Epstein secrets. All I say is don't suck or I'll scratch you. (And I'll say it was an accident)

Some Random Stuff.

Some random stuff and stories that happened today and recently.

Look Alikes

I get really bored at school sometimes and I start thinking that people start looking like other people. There's this one really popular couple who I think look like Jon Groff and Lea Michele. But the girl is a total bitch, and no where as pretty. The guy has the curly Groff-y hair. But he's about...the size of my house.
On Tuesday I was partners with some guy I don't know for frisbee. And it was really hot, and sunny. But the guy had long dirty blonde hair. Therefore I thought he looked like Gavin Creel in Hair. Every day I see him again I think "It must have been really really sunny...his hair is not that short"
On Monday this guy who I was friends with last year starts talking to me. Now I didn't mind him last year, but now he creeps me out. He was standing over and kind of scaring me, but I tried to think of something else and I realized that I thought he kind of looked like Will Swenson. I told a friend of mine who said she was going to Google Will Swenson to see what I mean. Just a note for her: To clarify, To look like Will Swenson, Ryan would have to be a lot better looking. And you know, older.
Lastly, I was turning on my music and walking to the bus one day when this girl walks by me. And I swear she looked just like Allison Case. I thought it was just my imagination, because I was listening to Hair at the time. The next day on my way out I saw her again. This time I actually got a better look at her, well her back. From the back she actually looked like she could be Allison because her outfit looked kind of Hair-like and her bag had peace signs and flowers. And I'm pretty sure the initials AC were on her bag (There was something before the A, but I forget what it was)

"You can't just ask people why they're white!"
Today in math class I turned around to say something to the guy next to me and before I do he says "Why are you so white? You're like Bella Swan." (Now it's been awhile since I read Twilight and I thought he said I'm a yellow swan) She-who-must-named-or-else-i'll-barf sits behind him and did an annoying popular person laugh. When he asked me again I said "Haven't you ever seen Mean Girls, 'you can't just ask people why they're white'"
Also in math this conversation happened with the same guy:
"Ugh, Ashley's talking like she's British again"
"Is that a bad thing"
"She has a terrible fake-british accent."
"I know someone who has a good british accent."
"A british person! Nobody can do a fake accent."
"Fine. I know someone who has a really funny british accent--"
(The conversation was cut off by the guy behind me debating with the guy next to me on god know's what. So I drew a picture)

I was thinking of saying something else, but I forgot

What's Wrong With Claude?

So I guess this story actually starts yesterday. For a civics project we drew lives that we have to budget for, and I'm single with no kids. That's good because I don't have to pay for them, bad because I can't name them. All I had on my sheet was N/A in a bunch of places. No one would let me name their kids so I decided to name my non-existent husband and kids. I showed my friend one of my kids names and she said: "Claude Bukowski? You're kid is getting beaten up on the playground."

Today in dance class everyone got trophies. Mine was already at home because I got it on Monday. While we were changing our shoes one girl was talking about what she named hers. I said "Mine's name is Claude." one of the girls who's also in my monday class goes "CLAUDE?!?!?!" A girl who was going into the next class (she can't have been older than 7) makes the funniest face I have ever seen (I should've taken a picture) I told her it wasn't that bad. But the girl I was talking to says "Your trophy's a girl." I said "No it's not." She tried to explain to me that it had long hair. I simply said "That's why I'm naming it Claude" she went on to say it was dancing, that didn't change my mind. She ended up just shaking her head saying "You have a very eccentric, strange trophy." as I walked 0ut I couldn't help say "And he says he's from England."

An Experiment

So I had the idea to see what would happen if I stopped listening to Broadway, talking about Broadway, and watching videos of Broadway shows looking at pictures of Broadway, and stopped doing the drawings and random notes. I thought about trying it tomorrow. I thought a little bit about how that would work out and what kind of mood I'd end up in.

I decided that was a bad idea and then I bought the Rock of Ages OBCR

One Song Glory.

You know when you hear that one song.
The song that makes you think "I might like this show."
It's the song that tells you the rest is as good. By no means is it a song that tells what the entire show is about or all the important stuff. Maybe it's not even a real indepth song. But it gets you somehow. It's catchy, or its fun, or it makes you say Yeah! I've found that for a lot of the shows I've loved I get one song to really pull me in. For Wicked it was probably Popular (possibly mixed with a little of Loathing and Defying Gravity) because it was perky and upbeat and seemed fun. For Rent it was La Vie Boheme. (I loved the 30 second preview on Itunes) For Chicago it was a little weird because I saw the show first, but All THat Jazz, Razzle Dazzle and Cell Block Tango for my firsts. For Spring Awakening it was Totally Fucked. For Bare it was You and I. For Rock of Ages it was Here I Go Again. For Next to Normal it was Superboy and the Invisible Girl. For 13 it was What it Means to Be A Friend. For Guys and Dolls it was Luck Be A Lady. For 9 to 5 it was that theme song. For Hair it was, well...Hair.
The song that you first hear might not be the headline of the show, or you favorite song in it forever, but its the song that gives you the faith to try the rest. And with my track record, that song has always given good guidance.

Stupid much?

How stupid can someone be? I'll answer that: So stupid that they continuously ignore something that all the people they've talked to seem to love. I'm talking about HAIR. No, not the one on my head (That I don't ignore.) When I was researching my Broadway project I learned a lot about it; that it had awesome music, tons of fun, and there was a nude scene. But I didn't include it in the project. Why? Excellent question. Then my grandma suggested it as my second show in New York. I basically ignored her and added it to my list in pencil. My mom said I'd like Hair because it was kind of Across the Universe-y. I once again sort of shrugged it off. At the beach my mom and grandma both said their votes were for hair. But after I knew not only of the nude scene, but also that they come out into the audience I was nearly sure it was a no. I still kept it on my list, without much hope for it. I talked to a couple friends on the fact that I wasn't sure I wanted to, or could handle seeing it. The whole while I'd seen Broadway Secrets about the amazing cast. Then my Adam Lambert obsessed friend sent me the video of him seeing the show. I disregarded it, possibly with more confidence I wouldn't see it. Then I read on Matt's blog that he saw it and loved it. Granted he backed Rock of Ages, which has gotten some strange feedback. But I played the 30 seconds Itunes preview of Aquarius and I said "too much money." Then a friend of mine, who knows what's best for me without really knowing me at all gave me the CD. I played the songs as I read the synopsis on Wikipedia. Love was nearly instantaneous (Obviously, have you heard how many times they say Love.) I began allowing the songs to glue themselves into my brain and I spread the love with anyone who I trusted to appreciate it. (The jackass on my bus who said he hated the peace, anti-war movement because it brought hippies will not be given the CD) In school today I (coincidently) felt like I was already embracing it as I wore my long, flowy, earthy skirt. I hummed all through school, from Aquaries to Let the Sun Shine In, even Sodomy I hummed. I played the songs for my friend. I saw the word Atlantic on a test and started singing Manchester England. Btw, I like Gavin Creel. I wrote a song about my nails to the tune of Hair during Tech Tools, made a design with a line from Air during Science. Before dance class I got pumped with a few seconds of Hair, and for the first time actually got into a Brand New You.

So what can I say? I'm in love. I just wish I wasn't such a shy prude or I'd totally see it!

World (Brad Paisley) - Female and Chipmunk

I remember this was when I had fooled around with a bunch of songs and ended up posting them in videos, because I thought why not.
