Day 143-4/11/10

Show: Legally Blonde
Date: 12/15/07
Cast:
Type: Audio

Great fun as usual! I love this show and get into it always!

Day 139-4/7/10

Legally Blonde Search for the Next Elle Woods. Episode 2

So I don’t think this was quite as interesting as the last one, because there’s something a tad more interesting about watching singing and dancing. But first thing is that I don’t know how I feel about them telling Bailey to speak without an accent, just because that’s very hard and maybe that’s why it doesn’t always sound completely natural when I listen to her. I found it a little irritating that they had Nikki Snelson mess up, because come on, nobody would know what to do on their first performance. They might know what to do after a while when they’ve gotten used to each other and gotten a chemistry and comfort. I didn’t like who they sent home, but I won’t spoil it.

Day 138-4/6/10

Legally Blonde Search For The Next Elle Woods. Episode 1

First off, this show makes me want to play Elle Woods. Also, watching these girls dance and learn the moves seriously made me miss dancing. I signed up for my dance class to do what they do and that’s not what I’m getting. Onto the people. First, I hate Haylie Duff. Someone introduces her by saying she’s a talented actress, singer, and dancer. Really, she’s none of those. Also, everything that Seth says in his deconstructions get stuck in your head. I haven’t decided about all of the girls yet, because I mostly paid attention to the ones who I thought had a chance making it to the next episode. Rhiannon is really cute, but her singing just sounds to childish. Bailey looks and sounds like Carrie Underwood so I feel like I should like her because she’s a country sister. I loved Cassie O’s singing. And Autumn was also someone who I thought was really good.

So many understudies! Lauren, I wasn't crazy about. Her voice was lacking a little bit. Not crazy about the Emmett. I didn't think I'd miss Christian, but I did. The Vivienne also wasn't good enough. She failed to do snotty. I liked Mamie pretty much, but I had been kind of looking forward to hearing Natalie.

Day 69-1/27/10

THIS IS THE DAY WHERE I SHARE MY SPECIAL PLAYLIST!

But this is kind of a review as well.

Code of why it's on my list:
M : mood
V : voice
L : lyrics
R : Just 'cause/other reason

Brand New You - 13 OBCR

M
This is the song that we did in our dance class. So it makes me kind of want to dance and die. At the same time.

13/Becoming a Man - 13 OBCR

M/R
There's some parts in this that are fun and danceable and then there's more parts that annoy me.

What it Means to Be a Friend - 13 OBCR

M/R/V
This song really should be for when I need to "be sick" before gym class. But it also puts me in a hateful mood that really works for tests.

Lamest Place in the World - 13 OBCR

M/R/V/L
Same as the above song. Although the lyrics kind of make me compare it to my town.

If You Were Gay - Avenue Q

This is fun to listen to and makes me all happy.

Purpose - Avenue Q

It's got the most wonderful, most infectious beat. It's perfect.

It gets me kind of emotional and it's more relaxing than some of the others.

Day 38-12/27/09

Show: Legally Blonde
Date: 7/23/08
Cast: Bailey Hanks as Elle. Pretty much regular for every one else.
Type: Audio

I like this show, ignoring the impracticalities. Bailey was not as bad as I'd heard, but I thought she was better speaking than singing. Her speaking voice reminded me a lot of Reese. And her singing made me think of that kind of girl who's not a bad singer (but you wouldn't say a great singer) and sings all the time, yeah she's popular too--You especially get that vibe when she riffs. She did flub one line pretty early on.
I don't mind Orfeh's Paulette, but I do think she's not the best singer. I kind of think of her Paulette like Phoebe from Friends.
I'm really starting to get into Christian's Emmett, it's all sweet and cute and shit.
Okay, night night.

Day 22-12/11/09

Show: Legally Blonde
Date: 9/6/07
Cast: Annaleigh Ashford as Elle.
Type: Audio

This will be brief: Annaleigh is sooooo good! What a beautiful voice, and her speaking quite reminded me of Reese. I loved it, she was awesome. Hearing her here, I can here a trace of Glinda-ness.

Day 10-11/29/09

Show: Legally Blonde
Date: 2/24/07 (I think, by deductive reasoning)
Type: Video
Cast: Laura Bell Bundy, Richard Blake, Christian Borle, Orfeh, Kate Shindle, Annaleigh Ashford, Nikki Snelson

I think this show is/was really cute. I like the way it spun the movie a little for the music, and I think the songs were created so well to work. I think Laura Bell Bundy is real cute and definitely adds a lot of perk and spunk to the character, although I did like how in the movie despite being blonde Reese could make Elle actually take herself seriously. I think Richard Blake almost looks exactly how Warner did in the movie, and pretty good voice. Christian Borle is also really good, I like how he looks a little nerdier than Luke Wilson. Orfeh has a good voice, but I'm not in love with her Paulette. Definitely like Vivienne. I thought she looked a little prettier than in the movie, and it's definitely wonderful. The entire sorority was really cute and great.
I think this was Pre-Broadway, because Positive isn't included. I'm not even sure what that song is that they're singing, but my god, Positive is so much better. I also thought some of the songs seemed to be lacking energy, this could be because I'm watching at midnight but also it could be because it is lacking energy. So Much Better was awesome, like so cute! Whipped Into Shape was nice, but I liked the Ali Larter Brooke so much more, because she kind of had a little bit of a fear factor. Take It Like A Man is cute and funny, and she has really nice voice. The "I see dead people" before the Bend and Snap was hillllarrriiooous. the Bend and Snap was a hilarious scene in the movie and it translated soo well, so funny! I didn't like Legally Blonde, because I think it's so stupid that they made a song from the title and it's too ballady. But I did really love the Legally Blonde Remix and Ireland Reprise. Hate that they went back to the "scene of the crime" because that would just NEVER happen.
The ending was great, though.

I liked it and it'll be interesting to watch or listen again with understudies and such!
