This excerpt is the pick-up of the last one.


It amazed me that I had kept so calm when Marcus told me what happened. I think it might have been because I thought that Marcus might love Mitchell again. But I was really happy that wasn’t the case. Marcus had fallen asleep almost immediately. I got up and took off his socks and shoes and then got back into bed. He was warm from his run and it felt good to me. Somehow I wasn’t furious at him, although maybe I should have been. In my mind he hadn’t completely cheated on me. But he’d still have to pay me back, of course.
