There is a guy in my HUM who's name is Fontana. I kid you not.

Oh, let's just keep talking about four time. lalalalala. I'm not listeeening.

1. (1) Jamie McMurray
Whoooa. McMurray was faaaast in qualifying. Like you could ski on the lap tracker because it was so much above Montoya. They said he should get the whole front row because he was so fast. And then he proceeded to have the cutest post-qualifying interview ever.

2. (19) Elliott Sadler
So, like Sadler qualified second? Which is funny because I've read more than a couple McMurray Sadler jokes. I still don't understand them. But dammmmn. He needs a good finish.

3. (17) Matt Kenseth
Kenseth won last year in the "Spring" which was his last win.

4. (42) Juan Pablo Montoya
Montoya bumped Biff and Mouse. His crew chief told him not to comment about how he felt about the lap so as not to give it away to other teams listening. The ESPN guy said "he could say it in Spanish" He's weird when he makes jokes or tries to seem nice. And his glasses are the ugliest thing ever. In case you cared.

5. (9) Kasey Kahne
When Kasey was qualifying I had images of the pictures Viv was sending me during school. I was on the bus and went "Ohmigosh" at the first one, I expained what it was to my friends to which they said "Are you sexting?" "No!" I responded. Then the second picture came which I shouted "OH MY GOD" and my friends once again asked "Are you sure you're not sexting?" and truthfully, I told them "Not sure anymore."

6. (56) Martin Truex Jr.
My crystall ball said to write Truex first. I might. Also, the NAPA Know How commercial just came on. It's been literally forever since I've seen it.

7. (16) Greg Biffle
Ze Biff knocked Joey off prov pole. And then complained on the radio.

8. (48) Jimmie Johnson
Jimmie had the weirdest warm up lap I think I've seen. I was expecting more of Mr.Home-Court-Advantage. The scruff doesn't look horrible today. But his hair could use a tiny cut, it's getting close to mullett territory. Also, I have no problem with him, it's the media's portrayal of him. I just want to say SHUT UP. But he talks and I don't mind at all.

9. (88) Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Crystal ball gave me an interesting Dale prediction. Wow, he was so much better with DEI than HMS. He was on a pole run, but fell to 3rd which bests Joey. Not sure what was up with that.

10. (20) Joey Logano
Joey was on provision pole. Didn't stay there all that long, he was also 3rd to go out, so that doesn't say a lot.

11. (5) Mark Martin
Andy Petree said Mark was looking very race in practice. Join with me in "ewwww" At the last split second ESPN said that he knocked Joey of pole, but he was one thousandth slower. He gave a shout out to all of his sponsors then said "It's early in the weekend"

12. (13) Casey Mears
Oh, the curse of the CM. Yet to attack.

13.
(39) Ryan Newman
If Newman had made the chase he would be in 5th place. That means I should use the McMurray Calculation for him too. Also, that means 2 things that might have allowed him to make the chase are 1. If Bowyer had been penalized pre-chase and 2. If Joey could have controlled his car better.

14.
(31) Jeff Burton
Burton qualified good ish. He was actually on a pole run for a moment. And I went "THE FUCK???"

15. (33) Clint Bowyer
Clint's got a new crew chief. He seriously needs to make some improvements. And of course everyone is looking at me saying "Wellllllll don't you control this stuff?"

16. (18) Kyle Busch
Kyle's speaking also bothers me. He sounds like a douche without saying anything douchy.

17. (24) Jeff Gordon
...I have nothing written about him. I guess his qualifying wasn't worth notes. He's short.

18. (6) David Ragan
Ragan was close to getting provisional pole. But the weird thing was that while they were showing him qualify, they also showed Jack. Also, I think he and Drew make a good pair. They have similar ish hair.

19. (78) Regan Smith
Regan Smith has the ugliest car ever. Really really ugly.

20. (99) Carl Edwards
Carl sat out second nationwide practice. He said that it was because he had that crappy qualifying in practice. I said he was a good talker. I still think it. He was having a totally awesome run and then blew it at the end

21. (29) Kevin Harvick
I cannot look at Harvick's picture while he qualifies. I think he wants to kill me or something. He qualified next to Carl. Idk if it's because I want to be Delana (sans Kevin, but whatever) but I think Harvick is kind of attractive in the chase commercial.

22. (14) Tony Stewart
I'm sick of Tony's soft calm chill voice.

23. (00) David Reutimann
Apparently Kyle and Reuty aren't past the issue, as I've read.
Reuty has been getting so much attention since last week. Maybe that was his plan all along? Maybe he's an attention whore?
Actually, I think he's a genius. He's gotten more attention than he did after his win in July. And seriously, now we know that the way to get notice is not performance.

24. (98) Paul Menard
Menard's headshot that they show on ESPN is weird.

25. (12) Brad Keselowski
Kezzy needs to get faster. While qualifying he did something kind of weird, then got on the radio and said "I didn't want to do that, but I think it might have worked." He also needs to finish well. Or win. Or finish well and win. His crew chief's name is Jay Guy.

26. (47) Marcos Ambrose
I didn't even see him qualify. Must have happened during commercial.

27. (83) Reed Sorenson
Reed spun in practice. I have nothing else interesting to say other than that.

28. (46) Michael McDowell
I read an article that mentioned him today.

29. (82) Scott Speed
Speedy was actually semi-speedy in qualifying.

30. (43) A.J. Allmendinger
Allmendinger was talking to Reuty. OOooh. Also, apparently he has an average finish of 10.7 in the last chase races, if he were in he would be 9th. But this is not so great, just saying.

skip a few until

34. (11) Denny Hamlin
Denny wants to finish 5th or better Sunday. He's in his Richmond car. I guess he hopes it's lucky. But seeing that he's all the way back here I kind of doubt it.

skip a few more

36. (164) Landon Cassill
Not my friend. But needs to actually do something interesting.

37. (77) Sam Hornish Jr.
Hornish needs a sponsor. Or a ride. Or a good finish.

38. (2) Kurt Busch
Kurt qualified like crap. And when it was over he was pissed at shouting at his crew chief. I'd like to ask him who he thinks is driving the car, though.

skip more

41. (7) Kevin Conway
Last year the rookies were Scott Speed and Joey Logano. This year it's Kevin. Cuteness has gone down. So has skill. Just saying.

1. (9) Kasey Kahne, Ford, Budweiser

The last time Kasey was on the pole was the race Joey and Newman got into a fight. Fingers crossed for a trend.

2. (98) Paul Menard, Ford, Zecol/Menards

I read that RPM swept the front row and was so confused. Why do I never remember what team he's on?

3. (24) Jeff Gordon, Chevrolet, DuPont

Did you hear that DuPont's leaving him? Maybe he'll get a sponsor that doesn't confuse me.

4. (20) Joey Logano, Toyota, The Home Depot

He is wearing red for the nationwide race. That is a great color on him. Maybe he's to pale for the black or something. Also this is a totally not crappy place to qualify. I guess someone explained numbers to him.

5. (16) Greg Biffle, Ford, Sherwin Williams/3M

+1 for the crystal ball.

6. (39) Ryan Newman, Chevrolet, U.S. Army

I totally wouldn't mind him fighting with someone.

7. (42) Juan Pablo Montoya, Chevrolet, Target

The Nationwide race is not on because of football. Could ESPN please stop screwing us over like that?

8. (17) Matt Kenseth, Ford, Crown Royal Black

I still apologize for last week.

9. (2) Kurt Busch, Dodge, Operation Home Front/Miller Lite

His voice bugs me.

10. (6) David Ragan, Ford, UPS

Remember that time he led, like, a lap at Michigan?

11. (21) Bill Elliott, Ford, Motorcraft/Quick Lane Tire & Auto Center

I was following qualifying on my phone when he bested Denny. I laughed so hard.

12. (11) Denny Hamlin, Toyota, FedEx Freight

My mom said she's seen his parents. I think that's he way of saying "If you don't start being nice to him I'm going to have a talk with his parents."

13. (78) Regan Smith, Chevrolet, Furniture Row Companies

My dad and I were talking about the Talladega race in 2008. I asked who won and he said that was the race that the guy who never does anything won but was below the line. I thought he was talking about Joey at first, but then he said it was Regan.

14. (14) Tony Stewart, Chevrolet, Office Depot/Old Spice

Tony was the one who actually won that race.

15. (19) Elliott Sadler, Ford, Stanley/Susan G Komen for the Cure

The color of his car is cute, but still not the color I would want. Also his sunglasses are ugly.

16. (00) David Reutimann, Toyota, Aaron's Dream Machine

Whatever happened to Tums?

17. (09) Bobby Labonte, Chevrolet, Phoenix Construction

He led laps at Dover, I think.

18. (77) Sam Hornish Jr., Dodge, AAA

I was watching the Atlanta race. I laugh so much when Kurt says "Are we driving the 77's set-up?"

19. (18) Kyle Busch, Toyota, M&M's

Ryan and Sam just tweeted that Kyle took the lead. I'm not watching because of fucking football.

20. (88) Dale Earnhardt Jr., Chevrolet, National Guard/Amp Energy

I've started getting youtube subscribers and twitter followers with "88" in their title.

21. (48) Jimmie Johnson, Chevrolet, Lowe's/Johns Manville

Maybe things will go like they did in New Hampshire and everyone will go all crazed for positions.

22. (1) Jamie McMurray, Chevrolet, Bass Pro Shops/Tracker

I enjoy doing the weekly Jamie watch. I'd enjoy it a little more if he were in the chase.

23. (31) Jeff Burton, Chevrolet, Caterpillar

At Richmond when it was raining his spotter/crew chief informed him that it was clearing up. To which he responded "No! It's a monsoon!"

24. (29) Kevin Harvick, Chevrolet, Shell/Pennzoil

Delana just tweeted that Happy took the lead. Oh! It's finally on! After 11 laps.

25. (56) Martin Truex Jr., Toyota, NAPA/Susan G Komen for the Cure

His car needs more pink. He's in the Nationwide race now.

26. (12) Brad Keselowski, Dodge, Penske Racing

Never discussing him with my mother.

27. (33) Clint Bowyer, Chevrolet, Cheerios/Hamburger Helper

I was playing with a quarter earlier. Can you believe that a quarter is everything to this team?

28. (5) Mark Martin, Chevrolet, GoDaddy.com

I love him, but he needs to start doing well again

29. (46) Michael McDowell, Chevrolet, Cash America

Kyle's leading the Nationwide race.

30. (43) A.J. Allmendinger, Ford, Insignia HDTV/Best Buy

He did beyond awesome last week. Do it again.

31. (99) Carl Edwards, Ford, Aflac

Really? 31st? At least he's 5th right now in the Nationwide race.

32. (47) Marcos Ambrose, Toyota, Little Debbie

He did good at Richmond. I was stunned.

33. (82) Scott Speed, Toyota, Red Bull

I was watching Atlanta when he was on fire. Pretty funny.

34. (83) Reed Sorenson, Toyota, Red Bull

Is he going to get a ride next year?

35. (64) Landon Cassill, Toyota, Gunselman Motorsports

He is not my buddy and if my dad says that one more time he will feel the wrath.

36. (26) Patrick Carpentier, Ford, Air National Guard

Kyle is still leading in the Nationwide race. I say this as if it's news.

37. (13) Casey Mears, Toyota, GEICO

I get so worried that the curse of CM will come back. Not yet.

38. (37) David Gilliland, Ford, Taco Bell

When my dad was telling me about the All Star race we were at Taco Bell.

Nationwide 7/31/10

Mean old ESPN showed a tennis match over the first 24 laps. And shocker of shockers, Kyle's leading. Bayne's been pretty good. FWIW Matt's in the 20 car again. And the 16 car looks so much like Biffle. They're talking about Allgaier getting into it with other people, how is that possible, he looks like a little kid. Bayne made a pass on Kyle, who got it back. And then Sorenson crashed and caught fire. Oh, scary. Red flagged? Idk, sure seems like that. Yup, red flag and they're just showing the awful crash again and again. So next week will be at Watkins Glen. I think Logano will probably be back in the 20 car. I've deduced that maybe he only does the Nationwide race when it's at the same track, but that's just hypothesizing. Mom, stop talking, just go to sleep and stop dumping on Kyle. Restart. And Busch is first, but Bayne keeps getting on his tail. Lalala. There's some interesting passing and stuff, but guess who's in first? "I have a feeling that more than just us are watching this guy on the screen" Uh, we kind of have to. You put him on the screen. And again Bayne tries to pass Kyle and fails. My dad suggested he bump him like Kyle did last week. Oh, he's past Kyle. Ohh Kyle's taking it back...Oh, nope. Wait, maybe...it's really going back and forth. They are really running right next to each other. Who's even leading? I can't tell. They're right next to each other and just went three wide. I think Bayne came out ahead. Oh my gosh! A car just ran straight through another. Holy crap. A few cars involved. The other Keselowski was involved. That's awful. Another red flag. Hopefully my dad recorded enough. And of course Kyle will now have the chance to pass Bayne. Aw, the guy in the 16 who got slammed is the cute Colin Braun. Pit time. I can't wait for Watkins Glen. Oh, Kyle got the lead off of pit road. Whoa, Harvick! Want to give the guy any space? Hekeeps bumping Bayne. And Kyle is just getting away. Yet another caution. Every time they say "race with respect" I rolemy eyes. Aw, Bayne is getting close to passed by Keselowski. Oh, Carl Edwards being passed by a rookie, Brian Scott. Still a battle between Bayne and Brad (that sounds cool!) Oh, they said Harvick is goining the party. Part-ay! The announcers constantly talk about cup racers not being able to do the nationwide as much, and I'd just like to point out that all of the nationwide races I've seen have been won by cup drivers. Actually, all but one has been won by the samecup driver. Aw, Bayne got passed by Harvick. The guy in the 20 just turned 19, whoa. Edwards us back in 9th, hopefully he won't have problems like his teammates already have. Pocono tomorrow! I probably won't watch it live, but I'll watch it. Oh, goody, showing Gateway crash again. I wanted to watch the truck race this afternoon. Kasey Kahne, Denny Hamlin and Elliot Sadler were in it. But because of the fridge I couldn't. Another caution, the rookie Brian Scott had a right front go down :( Pit time. Btw, Bayne down to 4th. Oh, but off put road he moved up. But nevermind, he got passed. Guess who's leading? You're right! Just checked, Dibennedeto (did I spell that right? Probably not. He must be Steffi D's brother) is a rookie. Oh, youdon't care? Well this is my blog. Oh goodness, another right front goes down and now it appears to be on fire. Caution fun. Pit time. So Harvick got 2. Bayne, Keselowski and Busch got 4. Most everyone else got 2. Harvick will be in lead. Whoa, Kyle wasted no time moving from 6th to 2nd. They're comparing this to Montoya at Indy. Gotta say, circumstances are different and really, Kyle's a better driver. Commercial break's over and guess who's in first? Bayne still in 4th. Thank you dad, for letting me know that Logano usually races in the 20. I guess we are reassured that he doesn't know where my interests are (probably still thinks I like Kyle.) 3 to go, who's leading? Last lap. Busch, Harvick, Keselowski, Bayne, Steve Wallace, Annett, Allgaier, Dibenedeto, Edwards. And there's his pretty fiancee. Oh, and I guess were not watching victory lane stuff. Because apparently we're giving the TV to Rachel. That's so not true, but whatever you say dad. That's why we're not watching anymore.

Oh, by the way, my dad had mentioned something about Ambrose leaving JTG and I said "I know" and he's like "You've been reading up" and I was like "Yep" and he was like "Who might he go to?" and I was like "They're saying maybe Petty" and he was like "Taking the 9 car?" and I was like "Or the 19" and he was like "I can't see him doing either sponsor"

Last Night

vmr496 is Available
Me:

hey?

vmr496 :

I missed you!

Me:

Missed you too. Did you watch any of the race?

vmr496 :

no

Me:

Too bad. My post is up, but I kind of didn't talk about it that much. I was actually enjoying just watching it

vmr496 :

Ohh. I just got home at 7 haha

Me:

It's okay. I was watching it delayed

vmr496 :

yay?

Me:

I meant you weren't able to spoil it for me. Although I spoiled it a little completely accidently

vmr496 :

Oh? Did you go on the website again?

Me:

Nope. I unfollowed Nascar on twitter, but not Nascar News. I glanced at my phone for a sec during the race and saw McMurry, and put it away right away

vmr496 :

Ha! Good for you

Me:

I meant to apologize for blowing you off last night.

I was in bed when I saw your facebook comment and got up and online only to realize that I was way to tired

vmr496 :

last night?

Me:

Yeah

You there/

vmr496 :

Yeah. why?

Me:

You hadn't said anything

vmr496 :

Oh, maybe it didn't show up on you messenger. Or meybe you replied and I didn't get it. Sorry. I'm very tired and trying to download stuff

Me:

Oh. Sorry to bother you. What are you downloading?

vmr496 :

A series of graphic novels I read the first one today, but there like $12 each. So I'm downloading jpeg and attempting to put them on my mp3 player. Also, I'm deciding if I wanna download a show

Me:

That's unbelievably cool.

Any chance you read my post about last night or today>

?

vmr496 :

Thanks. But it's not working. For some reason pictures of Matt Doyle keep appearing. Not complaining, but when I wanna read about Scott Pilgram, it could be a problem

Me:

Huh?

vmr496 :

Random: I'm pretty sure that it was fate that caused me to go to AI yesterday

Me:

Way to answer my question. Why was it fate

?

vmr496 :

You have to promise not to laugh at some of the reasons

Me:

I'll keep it somewhat quiet

vmr496 :

One of the less ridiculous ones: Holiday cam on the radio on our drive home

I bought the Scott Pilgrim book at a store, then I noticed that Will (my fav character) wears a Scott Pilgrim t-shirt

I'm in love with Gerard Canonico. Like literally, more in love than with anyone before. It's almost painful. Anyway, it was also his birthday

I had more reasons but I can't remember them

oh, also, (another Scott P reference) SP is dating a girl 6 years younger than him in the book. Gerard is 7 years older than me

Me:

I must quote Mr. Eko

Don't mistake coincidence for fate

vmr496 :

True. But I was supposed to be going NEXT week. But we ended up going this week. And on the way there we were listening to music and a bunch of Gerard songs came on shuffle. Which made me think about his birthday. Kinda OT: he played Good Riddence after the curtain call and I almost died. Well everyone did, but he was the first to start playing and sang the first few lines

Me:

Ok

vmr496 :

I was gonna review it, but it ended up being wayyyy to long to keep anyone's attention

Me:

Fine.

You never answered my question. I mean, I understand if you just didn't want to read it.

vmr496 :

I had an understudy

Libby? I liked her! Really good

Sorry, I'm being difficult aren't I?

Me:

Yeah, Mary was sick. And yes you're difficult

vmr496 :

Lol, I thought of you when I was reading my book (I may make alot of refernces. I sat in the car for 6 hours today and read it 3 times) because at one point he's talking to Ramona and he's nervous and all over the place. So Ramona's like "Stop. You're all over the place." He replies "But I'm so sincere!" and she just says "Sincerely lame, maybe."

Me:

YOU STILL HAVENT ANSWERED MY QUESTION

vmr496 :

Sorry, now I'm difficult AND weird. I'll go do the trivia thing. Maybe I'll be better after it

Me:

THE ONE I JUST ASKED YOU. SCROLL UP

vmr496 :

Random: I was stuck in Pocono for an hour or so. You'll NEVER guess what I was thinking about the whole time

And now I have to assume you're not talking to me. I'll be back sometime later

If it's even worth coming back...?

vmr496 is Available
Me:

Sorry. My parents pulled me away

I'm sorry! Come back!

vmr496 :

Ohhh ok. Sorry, I was watching top chef

Me:

Nice.

vmr496 :

I know. Remaking it ASAP

Me:

You saw the mistake?

vmr496 :

Yeah. That pic took forever to decide which phrase to use it for, and then I fuck up and forget a "r" -_-

Me:

Oh, that sucks!

I don't know if you remember, but that hapened to me with my last excerpt. I worked so hard and then stupidly mispelled a word

vmr496 :

Thanks. But it won't be hard to redo

Me:

That's what I thought

Guess who won the O'Reilly Auto Parts award?

vmr496 :

who?

Me:

Guess.

vmr496 :

I knew you would say that. Uhhhhhh, hint?

Me:

It's a guy.

You haven't gotten it yet?

You suck at this guessing game thing

vmr496 :

Thaaanks. But you didn't give me a hint

Me:

Yes I did. Something is wrong with your messenger

vmr496 : I knew you would say that. Uhhhhhh, hint? Me: It's a guy.

vmr496 :

UGH. How do know it's not a problem with your's? Sorry. What was the hint?

Me:

Because 1. Mine works just fine. 2. It showed up

You know what? I had a really great day, actually a really great weekend. And I'd love to tell you all about it, but the more I talk to you--or rather don't talk to you, because your messenger seems inept--the crankier I'm getting, so I think I'm just going to go to sleep

vmr496 :

Okay. Bye

Me:

Hopefully you'll feel like responding tomorrow

By the way, how come you never updated my database?

vmr496 :

I did something. I think it was finishes in last race and updating of sponsers. But for some reason rankings and points wouldn't open

I'll update finshes again tonight

Me:

Fine

Would it be too much to ask for formspring questions tomorrow?

Pretty pretty please?

That's the smilie that looks most like my begging face

Clearly you've left or something, but I thought I'd ask

vmr496 is Idle

Brickyard 400

I will start this with a quote "The sound of engines makes me sleepy" well the sound of engines turns me on. Hilarious commercial! For ESPN, it has the 99 and 12 trucks. My mom had difficult getting it, jeez. Oh gosh, my dad can't read. Kyle Busch is not starting 18th, he IS 18, starting 20 something. Green. Quick trouble. Reutimann, Busch, Hornish, Sorenson. Ugh, whoa. That's bad. Kurt 25, Kyle 26, Logano 27. What's going on here? Tons of good drivers are having issues; Newman, Edwards, Hamlin, Allmendinger, Keselowski. Goodness. Logano 21st. Kyle Busch is now 18. And omigod. There's a car on fire and a car torn up. It's only lap 15! Goodness. Pretty much everyone is pitting under caution. Logano moved up 10 spots into 10tbh. Jimmie almost got into trouble for going straight onto the track, but it's all good. Lol, some guy who didn't pit is in the front of the field. Back and forth and back again and Montoya passed Johnson. This post is epic boring. Biffle leading. Caution for debris. Good for Montoya, not so much for Biffle. Soo, sorry for not commenting any more until the end. YAYYyyyyy McMurry won!!!!!! Ahhh. So happy! Logano finished 9th (yay top 10!) And Biffle finished 3rd (Harvick 2nd) Yay McMurry! Yay! And nice comments about that from Edwards. Interview with Jimmie; too bad. Yay McMurry kissing the bricks. Biffle interview; nothing terribly interesting, just said that he should have taken two tires on the last pit. Johnson moved to 4th in points, Denny up to 3rd. Dad skipped through well, all of Kyle's interview and then watched all of Kurt's. Mmm biased. Lovve.

Nationwide 7/24

Starting a little late. Went to dinner with family, the race was on one of the screens but I couldn't see a lot. They interviewed Edwards and asked him do tempers flare...he said "why would you ask me that?" So yeah, ha. First 10 seconds something happens and someone gets banged and the announcer says "clean start" uh, wtf? The guy in the lead (Trevor Bayne) is really cute. No Logano in the 20. Did my mom just randomly mention Carl? Right on the 7th lap Edwards and Keselowski get right up with each other. Oh jeez. Oh, poor guy in 20 car. Kyle Busch in 4th. Alredy has damage a little. This is like watching short track speed skating. Busch takes 2nd. On Bayne and Busch "the young guy or the veteran?" hm. Bayne just barely holding of Kyle. He's really making an effort, there he just got passed. Yaaawn. Edwards 13. Yellow. Aww. Guy's a rookie :(. Pit time. Bayne takes first on restart. Something wrong with Busch's car? Did they just say that Kyle didn't push him? Why does he hve a tire mark on his car then? Bayne lost a few positions. :( but he was passed by good drivers. Did you just look at me when they said Kyle Busch? Weird, much. Please stop talking about Keselowski's probation. Keselowski 2nd. Yellow for debris. Ohmigosh, there's a car with no front! Busch first. And 2 cars just had problems. Caution. Kyle Busch has a loose wheel? That's bad. Lots of bumping and grinding with Horniday and Bayne. My mom just pointed out that Bayne is a year older than Rachel. Edwards right behind Keselowski. After the caaution, they're starting next to each other. Bayne keeps losing spots. :( caution. Horniday involved. The flag wavers hands got tired, haaa. Why do they insist on talking to the drivers during a caution? I wouldn't want to. After restart Carl moved up into 4 and past Keselowski. Go Carl! Now he's 3rd. Now he's 2nd. Caution with 6 laps to go. Very fortunate for Carl, not so much for Kyle. Maybe GWC? Yep. Shall be really interesting. Really interesting. I'm like shaking. Good start for Kyle. Contact. Edwards got super close. But Kyle won. Viv sucks. Thanks for ruining it. But Carl raced clean, good for him. My dad just told me a story about Edwards doing something from a video game. Where did my mom go? Is she pouting? Well, nice interview with Carl and his nice smile. Now, do I want to see Kyle's interview. My dad's hand is on the remote, we know he doesn't want to. Lol, if you disect the comments it's so funny. Although he made a comment that people who race with respect get raced clean. That was a slight at Keselowski a little. Ooh, he just dissed Horniday and boasted about himself. Brad's interview; he's cute. Now asking him about Carl. Handshake between Carl and Kyle.

Nationwide at Gateway

Dad, the anthem is all of 30 seconds, why do you refuse to watch it? I'm not great with the numbers for this race. Starting soon. Nationwide commercial, haha. Harvick already won once today, ugh. Introduction=confusing. Start your engines includes putting on the steering wheel, ha. Still haven't started yet; interviews. Nationwide races have so many commercials with drivers. Are there any drivers I know tonight? Idk. Green. Edwrards passed Harvick. My dad pointed out no Logano. Keselowski takes first. At the party I was reading about his feud with Edwards. Please stop mentioning that Harvick won the truck race. They haven't mentioned Keselowski for awhile? It's been like 5 laps. Aw, some guy with tire problems :( two liter pepsi! Lol, totally irrelevant, but mentioned in a commercial. Talking about g forces...scary. There's more than one Keselowski? Did not know that. Caution for debris, guess they gotta go stomp on some m&ms. Whoa, some guy had a serious problem. His car looked seriously messed. I'm bored. Finally some familiar faces...in the nascar.com commercial. "That's the driver pose; serious face, arms folded." They have the weirdest music. It's so cute watching animals without opposable thumbs play with things. Fyi to those who might only be looking forward to seeing Logano in the 20 car (viv): the other guy will be driving it for the next few weeks. I wonder what the drivers do during the pit stops? Edwards took the lead, but idk if it counted. Harvick in lead :/ I like the Nationwide song. Ohmigod. The Dover commercials use that awful footage of Logano's crash/flip. Edwards back in lead. My dad's asleep. Keselowski took lead back. They played Dirty Little Secret before commercials, wow. Do you know that the head and tail lights on the cars aren't real? Caution. Keselowski only got 2 tires, most others took 4. That could make him vulnerable, or not, who knows. How do you not use the left side tires a lot? Just because you don't turn with them doesn't mean they won't wear, right? Good restart for Carl. Teammates just crashed together, JGR, doesn't look good. Caution. Don't really think anyone would pit. Looks scary to get hit. Aw, my dad just pointed that the guys in the crash lose a lot of hope when that happens, cuz they need to get noticed. I would just like to point out that Harvick's wife owns his car. Another good restart for Carl Edwards. Intense watching Edwards and Keselowski battle. After forever of battle, Keselowski took lead. After a battle again Harvick passed Edwards for 2nd. No! The kid, Ryan Truex bumped the wall, he was really trying to finish. Pit stops. Menard moved up 2 spots, super aggressive exit. I would just like to point out that between commercials all there was was caution and pit stops. Vivian will like this commercial, Home Depot. ;) 18 laps to go. Wow, totally different guys in the front. The announcer is all excited. Lots of crazy stuff. Wtf? Harvick just crashed!?!?!?!? Oh my gosh, that looked bad. What on earth with 20? Ryan Truex is in it and he's on Waltrip (different team.) What on earth???? Keselowski will probably get the lead on the start, but idk. We'll see where Edwards ends up. Keselowski got lead, Edwards 2nd. Lots of people going three wide, and there's a crash. My goodness. Have they ever just considered NOT going crazy? Oh boy, red flag (and red light on my phone) and a green white checker? "Pressure makes diamonds, we'll see if we can make some" interesting comments from the leaders. Harvick's back out, I think. GWC soon, please no more crashes. They keep saying fans are on their feet, I hope I don't have to do that. Restart. Oh. My. Fu@king. God. Keselowski bumped Edwards and had first, then Edwards spun him hard at the end. And big crash. Holy shit. This will be messy. Difficult to say if it was Edwards' fault or not. My lord. My lord. My parents say it's Keselowski's fault, but they are biased. That crash sounds awful. Lord. My mom's happy, surprise surprise. Please stop checking him out, you. crazy lady. Interesting interview. They're playing Don't Stop Believing. I really want to hear Keselowski...he's going to be pissed, I'm sure. The dad's mad, that's bad. Wowwww. I think the problem really is that the two have had the problem before. Jesus. That's awful, seeing the wreck.

Chicagoland

So, first things first. I spoiled the race for myself by accidently going on the website and seeing Reutimann won. This is the anniversary of my first race! McDonalds is a better McMurry sponsor? Random, but okay. Hotness in rows 6 and 9 (Kasey, Carl, Joey, and Hamlin) pretty bad qualifying for Kyle. Green! 48 leads off. Earnhardt's going backwards. Kahne's moving up, 20 is 20th. Hamlin's a little back. Edwards is 8th. Every time they show his car camera, he's really working the wheel. Johnson still leading nicely, they're lapping people now. Gordon's losing ground to Edwards, who just passed. There are 267 laps, such a weird number. Whoa, Johnson's lapping the Buschs. Harvick is 20th. "Slowly working to the front" haha. Did I mention there's a guy named Bill Elliott? That's funny. Biffle and Reutimann fighting for 4. There's pitting now, under caution. Debris, maybe? Johnson had a good pit, but Reutimann and Edwards did bad. Actually, the caution was Stremme hitting wall. Truex JR did so well on pit! But Tony did not well, a jack problem or something. Restart soon. Johnson and Truex. Johnson got the lead. Kahne in 10th, 20 in 14th. 3 wide! Montoya, Edwards, Gordon. Allmendinger passes Gordon. Mcmurry in second. Edwards is 6th. Burton's moving up. Harvick is 26th. Stewart restarted 17th, but moving up a bit. Few people are already off. Gordon did a really nice pass, actually Edwards waved him by. Reutimann in fourth. McMurry getting closer to Johnson, oh. Johnson has led for all so far. I wanted him to win. Did I cast Tveit to be McMurry? I can't remember, but I might have. Reutimann in 4th. Kurt and Kyle are 24th and 25th I think? Odd. Kahne is 11th. Logano 20th. Dale JR 22nd. Kurt is 27th, so weird. Johnson's doing so well. I'm major bummed he doesn't win, I'm definitely rooting for him. Logano moved up to 19th. Stewart just worked around Biffle. Dale Jr. is not a ton on the throttle, it looks, maybe I'm wrong. Johnson just lapped the 83. Johnson's pitting now, as is Gordon. McMurry leading, trying to get the bonus points. Johnson had a little trouble because he missed pit road the first time. He's back in 3rd :( I got the trivia right! It was "besides winning, how can a driver get extra points." Harvick and Kurt are not doing well, boy, this is so not something I've seen. They're lapping Harvick, whoa. Johnson moved up to 2nd, I think. Every time they show Allmendinger I think of Gerard. Harvick isn't even on the lead lap! McMurry still leading. Logano still 20th. As they pointed out, Gibbs needs to improve. All 3 are not doing fantastic. It really is weird that Kyle and Joey did quite well the other night and not any more. Kurt is 29th. Debris flag. Pitting time. Johnson held 2nd. They said that he got a chassis adjustment, but that sounds like chasity, which sounds like a virginity update. My dad asked if I knew what it was, I said Kander (as in & Ebb) I was so close. Good restart for McMurry. And something bad happened to Johnson! Tha fucking broke my heart, he spun or something, he's still in though. My god, what is going on with this race? Hopefully, he'll make up ground. I'm crying on the inside. 2 lead changes, only. The two Waltrip cars are next to each other (Truex and Reutimann) McMurry had another good restart. Boy, Burton and Bowyer worked together to pass Edwards. Reutimann takes 3rd. Martin passes Logano for 20. He won last year. Kyle's in 19th, he won 2 years ago. Truex is losing a lot of ground. Just pointing out: Logano is ahead of Johnson. Biffle just passed Truex. Johnson in 20, then Kyle, then Logano. Montoya just mimicked his cr to his crew chief, funny. Hamlin up to 12. Johnson up to 19. Earnhardt's wobbly. Gordon takes the lead. Logano in 24. Reutimann's getting closer to 2nd. 100 to go. Reutimann takes 2nd. Oh gosh, Johnson hit a wall a little. Kyle's 20th, Logano's 24th. Johnson's 33rd, down 2 laps. My goodness. Caution! Bill Elliot crashed and Robby Gordon hit him. Oh my. There's all this fluid coming from the car. The others are instructed to stay away from it. Oh god, that looked painful. Stop showing it! Red flag, but both are okay. No, my dad lies, it was yellow and people are pitting. Gordon had good pit, Reutimann did decent, Bowyer moved up. Burton moved back, so did Reutimann. My did skipped through the commercial with Logano. The weird thing about Harvick not doing well is he's been so consistent before. They're treating the track from the crash, which as Vivian wasn't aware of is what they do during cautions. On restart Biffle fell down. He might be having engine problems, :( he was going good. Last I saw Kyle was 19 and Logano was 20. Johnson was 29. They said Harvick was off getting worked on in garage. Gordon still leading, but there's Reutimann getting real close. Logano's 21, Kurt's 26, and Johnson's 27 I think. Reutimann is getting slow close. Gordon has had 8 2nds in this year. Edwards in 4th. Reutimann still close, and there he passes Gordon and moves by. Biffle got lapped :( that could hurt in points. But Reutimann's moved up in points, Earnhardt's out of "chase" and Bowyer's in. Kahne's moving. Me being brainless again: "18? Who?" They really haven't shown him. Biffle's in pretty bad shape. Johnson pitting, maybe he'll get some ground back. Both Reutimann and Gordon pitted, now Edwards has lead. Wants points, I guess. Good because he was on outskirts of chase. Kyle's 23rd, Logano 25th I think. Both a lap down. Montoya leading now, probably for points? Kurt's 13th? I don't know what happened, but good. Reutimann first, Edwards 2nd. Hamlin 8. The 18 is 18 and the 20 is 20. Johnson and Kurt 25 and 26 I think. Reutimann's close to lapping Logano. Kahne in 6th, I think. Kurt's about to be lapped. Wow, announcer just made no sense. He said the lap down cars didn't know Reutimann was doing. Yes, they do. Such thing as a radio. Hamlin is 8th. My mom thinks she's a mindreader "Carl's watching." Kyle's 17. Logano's 20 and a lap down. Reutimann has quite a distance on Edwards with 4 left. Johnson 25. Reutimann just won, followed by Edwards, Gordon, Bowyer, McMurry. Wow, Reutimann couldn't reach the checkered flag when they gave it to him. As my dad said, nobody won the million dollars for picking the top ten. "Probably the lamest burnout because I was tearing up." Aw. Too bad Gordon didn't break his winless streak. Logano finished 19. But really, he started 18. He lost another spot in points. Biffle fell

Your post made me tear up, I'm sure your dad loves you.

He does. But it doesn't seem real anymore. And I think what hurts a lot is a few of the times that I needed him to be home, he was racing. He was gone when our group got in trouble for plagarizing. He was gone when we got our bad grade. He was gone during lock-in. And today I asked him if he remembered my dance routine song. Not only did he not know, but he made excuses. So maybe it wasn't the fairest question, but he can't remember what classes I'm taking next year while he always knows who has the pole and who won last race.

Ask away

Summer Lovin'

It's that time of year again, summer. Summer brings hot weather, sun, water, and other summer related stuff for most people. For me, it brings something else; love. It's love like all of my "loves" are love. But the summer loves are always just a little different. First thing about them is they are usually brought by someone else; when it was Lost my mom brought it, when it was Spring Awakening my sister brought it, and like that. They are also (obviously) during the summer, when I am at a lack of real guys to occupy myself with. And the other thing, the best thing, about the summer loves were that while the people themselves (Dominic Monaghan, John Gallagher Jr) were temporary, the broader picture was permanent. I stayed in love with Lost and Spring Awakening.

Who knew this love would be brought on by my dad, funnier even was that he brought it to me last summer! I was just preoccupied. I didn't realize that he had thrown a love into my lap until a couple of weeks ago. I mean, I knew I liked Nascar when I watched my first race, it was addictive and interesting. And by the way, this Saturday is the anniversary of my first race, I remember what I saw of it really well; Mark Martin was in first, Jeff Gordon was 2nd. And my second race; it was the same day that I was seeing Spring Awakening for the first time, but of course I had time to watch a bunch of circles. I remember Montoya in first for a lot of the time and then I went to take a shower and when I came back Johnson was in first and went on to win it. Not bad, not bad.

When did it happen? When did I finally realize I was in love? I have no idea. All I remember is a few races ago I didn't want to miss it. Maybe it was Pocono? Ah, who know. But now I'm kind of hooked.

After Saturday's totally epic race, I was telling my friend Rebecca about it. She asks me "Was Jimmie Johnson in it?" I was stunned "How do you know who he is?" She looked at me and laughed "He's been your gmail status for a month!" and of course I told her yes, and about the crash and Kurt Busch and Kyle Busch and so on.

When I was at Eclipse on Saturday the only part I liked (other than the part where the car goes fast and makes a very happy sound) was the whole "puppet" thing. Because in a way I'm kind of my dad's puppet. When I was watching the race I didn't know why I didn't like Kyle Busch. But when I got home from the beach we went out to dinner (minus Rachel) and my dad's talking about him and just he really doesn't like the guy. He actually made a little bit of a dig when he was talking about his own racing! But the funny thing is when we were watching the commentary, interviews, and stuff, they ran the interview and I'm torn on it. What was he even getting at? I have to side with the analyst who said it is hard to tell what's sarcasm and what's sincerity.

And apparently he also seriously dislikes Harvick. We were watching a Nascar show when Jeopardy came on and he was switching back during commercials. But during one commercial he saw Harvick, so he kept flipping. And then he went back, still Harvick, so he flipped to something else.

Speaking of puppets, I made Vivian into a Nascar fan. But to be honest, I'm a little upset. I don't mind her going crazy for the sport, but it's too much too soon.

This sport makes me crazy. The worst part is that I'm a little jealous of it. You know how in Nothing Suits Me Like a Suit, Barney says suits are the perfect way to get a girl with daddy issues? He's totally right, but if he's trying to get me, he might want to try a fire suit instead. My dad devotes more time of his life to racing than he does to me. He talks about racing more than he talks to me, unless it's racing related in which case he won't stop talking. I think he might have laughed more at Logano's dig at Harvick than he's laughed at something I've said in a really long time. He probably doesn't even remember the song that my dance recital was to, but he'll remember that line. And it's like what the hell am I supposed to do? I've tried dealing with it, I've tried bonding with him over it. My best fixes are to get back at him by either sleeping with a racer or becoming a racer. Neither seem very likely.

So I guess I want to believe that I have a future with this new love. I do, because love is always good.
