Chapter #3 (Mark)

Mark

I got ready to open the Starbucks wishing for this day to go by quickly. Almost as soon as the open sign flipped people began flocking like sheep. I got in position behind the counter ready to combat all the hungry, tired people. I looked at the door waiting for my best friend, Sarah, to come through. Sarah was totally awesome because she was so funny and was fun to talk to. Before Sarah walked through the door the love of her life did. I knew exactly what Sarah saw in George, he was gorgeous, had an amazing voice, great smile, and he was (somewhat) nice. George walked up to the counter to order his drink, and his girlfriend’s (who Sarah secretly hated for no reason other then being George's girlfriend.) I took his order resisting the urge to blurt out the fact that Sarah was in love with him, not that George wouldn’t have been able to pick up on the weird vibe I was giving him. A few minutes later Sarah came in the door doing the think where she “radiated” confidence (and sometimes, she wouldn't fall!) but I saw through it, seeing them (or people in love at all for that matter) was starting to hurt her. When Sarah came up to order I smiled at her, in a feeble attempt to cheer her up. Sarah sat down while I made her drink. When she got her drink I went to the back and switched the music to “Teardrops on my Guitar” and “Invisible.” Although Sarah would think I was trying to titillate her, in a way I really wasn’t. I was actually trying to send Sarah a message. Sarah always said the only fault in those songs were that the girl never told her love the truth, if Sarah wanted her happy ending she'd have to come clean. When I noticed George starting to leave he switched on “Radar” this time to annoy Sarah (success!!!), and remind her how hot George was.
